Melika Shafahi was born in Tehran in 1984. Her origins lie in fine art photography. The artist who now lives and works between Paris and Tehran, at the age of twenty-three moved to France.
She studied at the University of Art in Montpellier and in Lyon.
Fashion, advertising, and her personal social network elements (friends, natural or unnatural beauty strangers) are incorporated in her thinking, and used in her productions in readings of the surfaces.
Shafahi since early 2005 has exhibited in Tehran for the first time at Maryam Fasihi Harandi and in 2008 she has started her international exhibitions with Laleh June Galerie in Basel.
