We've always been fascinated by the gaudy lurid neon signs of Las Vegas and loved the idea of juxtaposing these with the ʻreadymade’ postcards.
Rob and Nick Carter live and work in London.They have exhibited internationally over the past 15 years included in the David Roberts Art Foundation, Sir Elton John, David and Victoria Beckham, Matthew Wlliamson, Jude Law collections.
As children, the Carter's imaginations were fired by postcards; tangible, personal, something to treasure. Drawing on their personal collection of postcards sourced throughout childhood, strikingly combined with their shared passion for neon, Rob and Nick Carter have created new series “Postcards from Vegas” marrying postcards from the 1960s and 1970s with neon signs found on locations such as casinos, diners, ice cream parlours and motels.
